I am a behavior analyst, also known as a BCBA. I became certified in August of 2019 and am licensed to practice in Connecticut. I’ve worked with people ranging from ages 3 through 21, in homes and in a clinic setting, providing ABA services to children on the autism spectrum, and behavioral training to staff and parents. The bulk of my experience and work has been with children ages 2-10, but I have also provided behavioral consultation within a transition program (ages 18-21), a middle school behavioral classroom, and elementary level classrooms. I have been working independently with Behave Yourself since 2020, providing services to families of children with autism; developing programming and treatment that works for them. I’ve collaborated with their school teams sharing Individualized Education Plans and Behavior Intervention Plans to ensure best services. I have collaborated with clients doctors regarding medication management and behavioral treatment, and with outside speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists.

Prior to my work as a BCBA, I was a special education teacher for five years in a public school in Connecticut. My caseload included students with autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Reactive Attachment Disorder, emotional disorders, behavioral disabilities, and learning disabilities. My classroom was an ABA-based classroom (though I went into regular education classrooms, as well as provided services in my separate specialized setting). I worked closely with BCBAs during that time, as well as regular education and special education teachers. I collaborated with administrators, special education staff, and colleagues to create goals, objectives and individualized assessments (academic as well as behavioral) to best meet the needs of students with special needs. I was in charge of supervising and managing schedules daily for instructional assistants (paraprofessionals) who worked one-on-one with my students with special needs.

Before special education, I taught third grade in a Waterbury, CT magnet school as a K-6 regular education teacher in 2008-2009, right out of my undergrad teaching program. I have six additional years’ experience working with children age 3-12 outside of the public school setting, including more than 3 years as a preschool teacher.
